SANDANE

Traveling home always brings out a special feeling. Everything is the same way it has always been, more or less. You get served the same food that you love, hang out at the same places you always did and meet the same people that has always been there. It gets extra interesting when bringing someone new into the family. You get to show them around and share all the traditions you have made through the years.

I am loving my easter break that contains all of this along with a sun-burned nose, drinking Solo and eating just a little bit too much sweets with my loved ones.

SIGNS

Three signs from today's trip to town. My former roommate from Whalehouse has been visiting for a few days, and now she has left to study in England for three more years.

Sign no. 1 is in the store of T.Michael and it blinks like it is ruined, but I think it is supposed to be like that. The second one is outside a hairdresser, and I love that they used a bike to get people's attention. It works, if you ask me.

Now, there is another person visiting, and I guess
I have to entertain him instead of sitting here blogging.

OFF THE GRID

I'm leaving - very spontaneously. My friend and I said "let's just leave" and we did. Right now I am writing from the car, and as I only have five percent battery left, I need to be quick.

We are going to a mountain somewhere in Norway. We will be unreachable, just us and the nature, a few beers in the sunshine and the two beautiful dogs we're bringing with us.

And yes, I am kind of stressed about being without any computers for several days..

THE ONE AFTER "I DO"

Yesterday I gathered enough "grown-up points" for an entire month, when I attended the first wedding of my adult life. (Although I guess I lost them again when I wished the bride and groom a merry christmas in the guestbook)... I have hundreds of images, but no more storage on my Mac so we will not be able to have a look at them yet.

The wedding was beautiful! Everything from the ceremony to the reception was so well planned and all the tiny details fit each other. There were flowers everywhere, old mason jars, framed images from the bride and groom's childhoods and of course a polaroid-camera to capture the evening. For entertainment there was a very talented toastmaster, great singers and old home videos. As the bride is an active blogger and instagrammer, we were encouraged to hashtag out photos with #kristinsimon. In fact, we were set on missions to capture a list of things and instagram them. The night ended with stars and sparkles and high hopes for the future.

There will be a photobomb from the weekend soon, trust me!

PPL ARE GETTING MARRIED

The families are running around, picking up flowers and baking in the middle of the night - but for me it doesn't seem like there is much to help with. Therefore I am showing up first for breakfast, I am having three cups of coffee and I sit and chat for an hour in the dining-hall. I got my make-up on, but not the dress, because I will spill something on it. The wedding ceremony starts in two hours and I am just so excited!

Today is the special day of my two friends Kristin and Simon.

MRS. CARTER

Traveling by train is the most amazing way to get a glimpse of Norwegian nature. I had never traveled on "Bergensbanen" before, which is the route from Bergen to Oslo, (and I have heard it is THE TRAINRIDE to go on.) It definately lived up to the expectations.

Seven hours later we found ourselves at, what Oslopeople like to think of as, the centre of Norway. We got some sleep but was up at 7 AM to go stand in line for the Beyoncé concert. In total we spent 13 hours at Telenor Arena that day.

Two hours into the "que-ing" a bird shat on me! This was hilarious and my friend showered my hair with anti bacterial foam and drinking-water.

A couple of hours later, I met a radio-celebrity... She has been on the morningshow that I have listened to since I was very young, and I was stoked to talk to her. I think she was amazed that she even had a fan?

The male part of our group managed to become friends with the security people, and before we knew it, our whole gang was put first in line of ALL the people going to the concert. This meant we could wander around, talk to strangers and basically just chill out, while everyone else sat in the sun, bored, for hours.

When we finally were let in and got to the front, I went back out to use the toilet. Out there it was a mess and many hundreds of people in line to get into the arena. When I was told I had to go all the way to the back of the line again, I thought; "I have not been here for 8,5 hours just to stand in line AGAIN!" Being rather tiny, alone and quiet I managed to climb under some ropes, run from the security man and back to the entrance without any trouble. Back inside I also decided to brung some beer for the gang which had to be thirsty by now. Then I kindly asked a million of angry Beyoncé fans to let me get back to the front, and so I did. My group was amazed that I manged to get through the crowd, but I've done this before, haha. (If you haven't already guessed it, I am very much a concert-person).

And of course, Beyoncé was amazing!

477

How to spend a Sunday in Norway; 477 meters above sea level. This is one of the great things about living in Bergen – there is always a mountain to hike in.

Now I am spending the night in the capital. Tomorrow I am going to see Beyoncé live on the Mrs. Carter World Tour. As I am very excited about this, and have to get up early, I think it is time for bed now.

BAILE ÁTHA CLIATH

What Dublin had to offer on my tiny holiday: late night walks in Temple Bar, wearing just too little clothes to stay warm. We did stay safe though, so dad, there is no need to panic right now.

Like Carrie said: "People in their twenties always knows the right B-people; bartenders, bouncers, busboys..." And so we befriended the bartender, which actually paid off.

We spent oh so many hours in town, shopping, museuming, photographing and even eating a little bit. But mostly shopping.

Just before take-off we managed to fit in some time for afternoon tea. This might not have been the best idea, traveling with that much sugar in ones body does not feel good. No worries, I managed, all the way back to Bergen.

Visiting a brand new city is always awesome, and Dublin reminded me of an uptight and a little bit ugly Bristol.
I liked it.

ALL DAY I DREAM ABOUT SNEAKERS

As a woman I am obligated to love shoes. I used to think I never would be "that kind of female", until I realised my shoe-love is not directed towards pumps, wedges, boots or any of that; I am a sneaker person.

In Dublin, yesterday, my friend and I was at a sports-store. She told me she felt very uncomfortable in those kind of places, like she didn't fit in. That is exactly how I feel in other shops, but when surrounded by sneakers in all kinds of brands, shapes and colours – I feel great. I might feel at home even.

Adidas is my favourite and I could not let these shoes slip away from me when there was a 20% off. Still, I did good and managed to not bring the entire contents of that shop with me back to Norway.

Because honestly, when can you ever wear sneakers in this country anyway?

THE QUEEN

Okay guys, I guess it's time to get back in the game… It looks like I just have to get used to life as it is right now, because apparently nothing is going to change in a while. I'm not saying I like that, I am a sucker for change, but what are you going to do?

I'll start off with a lift-off. Tomorrow I am traveling to Dublin for the first time in my life. In two weeks some people and I are opening an exhibition here in Bergen called EGO. - I am very exited about this! After that I guess the summer is just around the corner, and I will spend it working my ass off, because that's what I love to do! And then we'll see, right?

DIPLOMAT

I think this has been the longest day of my life. After spending a whole day in Soton on Thursday, I got three hours sleep and time has flown by as it turned Saturday. I never went to bed again, but I did fall asleep on the train from Southampton to Clapham Junction and almost missed my stop. But I didn't.

At graduation there were so many cameras, and with my fellow diplomats still on holiday in England, I only have some of them available at this time. Here is a piece of them, for you to enjoy and us to remember. I congratulate all graduates and diplomates at Southampton Solent University, school of Art and Design.

The awkward moment when someone is going to use your camera and don't manage to focus at the people... :P

SMELLS LIKE

The smells. That is the first thing I noticed once I arrived in England. When I got on the subway, that smell. The smell when I first came out from the subway and entered the streets. How the rain smells and the smell of instant coffee in the morning.

So far I have spent three days in London, and I ended up bying three items on my shopping-round(s). 1: Star Wars Moleskine calendar. 2: Glue. 3: A dress for graduation.

Yester I arrived in Southampton. Everyone else will be here today, I am so exiced about seeing people again. In Norway we have a saying, kind of like "Home Sweet Home" which goes somehting like this: "Being away is good, but being home is better". Right now it feels like I have been away for a very long time, and finally got home to Soton.

ØSENDE

I can't wait to travel again! I love reading all these blogs with awesome people who's traveling, dressing well and posting images of themselves at a tiny café, drinking the best cappuchino ever!

What I need to get away from is this horrible weather! When most people go on holiday, they relax and take some time off work, but I don't need that yet. I just can't stand being in this country where it NEVER STOPS RAINING! It is always cold out, people are cold and I get too sick of this too fast.

When I picture this little trip I am going on, I am not spending all my money on shopping and partying, I am sitting outside on a bench, drinking coffee. I am enjoying a great meal at this tiny café I spoke of earlier and I am meeting my friends and former teachers again.

The reasons why I want to leave Norway are many; but the "most visible one" is the weather.

Man, I'll get mad if it rains in England when I am there.

AMBITIONS

I remember writing about going back to Norway for Easter-break like it was a week ago. Time flies by way too fast and I am getting scared of suddenly looking in the mirror and a wrinkly, old lady is staring back at me. No, not in the creepy ghost-movie way, but I guess you know what I mean..?

On Monday I am going back to the United Kingdom to graduate from Southampton Solent University. My mum and I will spend a couple of days in London before traveling to Soton and meeting everyone else as well.
God, I miss England! I miss the language, kindness, WEATHER and I simply miss living there. Although I absolutely LOVE my job and working full time right now, I have to move back there. And I will.

AT THE FARM

I spent my Saturday-evening at the most beautiful farm just outside Bergen with some friends. It was brilliant! The ride there, the amazing nature and just spending some time away from home. We laughed, we ate A LOT and told a little bit too scary stories. At 5 AM we went to bed and slept like children. When we woke up it was dead silence in the most amazing way. I am still amused that I am surrounded by this kind of nature, just outside the city.
