INSIDE THE CASTLE

I am a dreamer. I dream about one day, living in an apartment with huge windows and a beautiful view over the city. All my furnitures will match, I'll have many plants and large photos hanging on the walls.

Until then, I am here in Bergen, living in a basement I like to call Biskopshavn Castle. When I moved back home from England, my landlord found mold damages and they had to renovate the entire place. I lived in a shared flat with six people I didn't know for nine months. It was kind of horrible. Now that I'm back here, I try to make it as great as possible, after all, this has been my "real home" for several years now.

IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING?

Right now I am blogging live from the capitol of Ireland! Can you believe it? Oh, Internet, you amuse me.

When I moved back to Biskopshavn Castle, I barely unpacked before I startet "using the place". I removed some stuff from the floors, brought my office into the living-room and left the living-room sin storage. And then I gave up. Being completely alone for the first time in many years didn't look good on me, but no one was around to see that, so who cared? (And it felt kind of good to not give a fuck about that interior-stuff for some time.)

Still, I had to get things up on the walls and stuff into the shelves at some point. Now it is less than two weeks until the new roomie moves in (AKA The Hound), and by then I have to rearrange the office to become my bedroom. There is a lot to do, and I think I'll start with a round of shopping here in Dublin.

THE QUEEN

Okay guys, I guess it's time to get back in the game… It looks like I just have to get used to life as it is right now, because apparently nothing is going to change in a while. I'm not saying I like that, I am a sucker for change, but what are you going to do?

I'll start off with a lift-off. Tomorrow I am traveling to Dublin for the first time in my life. In two weeks some people and I are opening an exhibition here in Bergen called EGO. - I am very exited about this! After that I guess the summer is just around the corner, and I will spend it working my ass off, because that's what I love to do! And then we'll see, right?

CARDBOARD BOXES

Two people moving apart creates a lot of mess, but also this new kind of freedom. Suddenly you have twice the shelf-space which you are free to fill up with some great new books.

Without a television one can put all the images and maps for people to see, instead of just having them hidden in a closet. Who uses a TV anyway? The one thing I am going to miss is playing Guitar Hero...

The table is filled with random things that has nothing to do either at that table, or in the living room itself.

Of course there is more than enough cleaning involved, which I think feels awesome. If I don't have any plans after work, this is all I do. Sounds a bit sad, but I really enjoy a clean flat.. xD

The place is always filled with cardboard boxes, and you never know if you have just about enough, too many or not enough boxes at all. It is a try and fail situation.

And one of the hardest things are always the separating of things. "Which one is yours, which one is mine?" and "I want this, but you can have that..."

In the end; moving is always a stressful time, but hopefully (and usually) things get better when you are done. I have eight more days of being Queen of Biskopshavn Castle, and then someone new will come in and occupy some space. It is going to be great!
