AWESOME WAYS TO SPEND A SATURDAY IN BERGEN

OR A SATURDAY IN BERGEN, A WEDNESDAY IN LONDON AND A SUNDAY IN TOKYO..

Wear a dress. If you don't have one, get a cheap one from the thrift shop.

Go out and have a drink with people you haven't seen in years. Spend more money on a fancy daiquiry than you spent on the dress.

Walk in the rain. Don't travel by bus, get your hands dirty and hair wet.

Stop to photograph the passing traffic.

Just walk around and smile to strangers.

Make an entire pot of coffee and drink all of it.

Rearrange your bedroom, then sit on the floor and read a magazine.

Buy a ticket for Roskilde and never plan how to travel there until the day actually comes.

FJELL FORTRESS

In the rare occation of sunshine and a lot of spare time, it was time for a classic Sunday-roadtrip. I asked the boyfriend to bring me somewhere I had never been before which led us to Fjell Fortress.

The first thing that met us was this incredible pond which seemed to come from nowhere. It was surrounding all the trees, and we found no end to it.

With a sign leading to Fjell Fortress, we decided to walk. After all, how far could it be?

We kept walking for some time and was met by both an incredible view as well as some quite cool army-vehicles.

I had of course decided to dress for the occation; wearing the typical Norwegian Marius-jumper and a skirt.

As we came further up the mountain there were more army-stuff. On one top this guy was just standing there, armed – something I found to be weird as there were nothing but nature surrounding us.

When we found bunkers, we played for a bit.

After a walk that was a lot longer than planned, we reached the top and I loved the view. I think I love all views to be honest.

We decided to head home. That's when the rain startet pouring down. So there I was, in the middle of nowhere dressed in a skirt and jumper only.

Back in the car and completely soaked. It wouldn't have been a perfect Sunday without that rain.

S P R I N G

Suddenly, spring is here. As the days get longer it seems there is more time as well. Time I like to spend with loved ones, time I enjoy being outside and time for even more kissing. If you thought I was too "ichy" and in love before, you should see me now. I am in love with LIFE right now.

The days pass and I do my best to get as much out of them as possible. Actually, my face hurts from smiling this much, and that is an awesome feeling.

How are you spending these first spring-days?

GET OUT

Wake up and get out! That is the first thing anyone should do in the morning. Fuck a cup of coffee! Don't brush your teeth or get dressed properly, just go out and take in the world. Start the day with wind in your hair and if not even nature, just "outdoors" around you. I promise that if you start every day like this, you will get addicted and not care about that warm bed inside.

Imagine that instead of starting the day stressed on some commute to work, you start the day outside. Imagine feeling just a little bit more free and making every day a little bit better.

INSIDE THE CASTLE

I am a dreamer. I dream about one day, living in an apartment with huge windows and a beautiful view over the city. All my furnitures will match, I'll have many plants and large photos hanging on the walls.

Until then, I am here in Bergen, living in a basement I like to call Biskopshavn Castle. When I moved back home from England, my landlord found mold damages and they had to renovate the entire place. I lived in a shared flat with six people I didn't know for nine months. It was kind of horrible. Now that I'm back here, I try to make it as great as possible, after all, this has been my "real home" for several years now.

RAPTUS

Last weekend my friend Espen came to Bergen in relation to Raptusfestivalen. I decided to tag along after work, and here are some snapshots from the festival. Of course we also visited Fløien, as all tourists do. (And I spoke with Knut Nærum, iiik! Yes, I get really starstruck sometimes.)

SIGNS

Three signs from today's trip to town. My former roommate from Whalehouse has been visiting for a few days, and now she has left to study in England for three more years.

Sign no. 1 is in the store of T.Michael and it blinks like it is ruined, but I think it is supposed to be like that. The second one is outside a hairdresser, and I love that they used a bike to get people's attention. It works, if you ask me.

Now, there is another person visiting, and I guess
I have to entertain him instead of sitting here blogging.

SOMETHING OLD / MIDDAY

I found these coins when I cleared out some mess from my kitchen cabinet, actually. They are old 1-kr coins from 1982 to 1985. I remember using them from when I was young, and I remember when they changed to the smaller kind we use now. Sometimes I love that I save everything and never throw stuff out.

When the sun is trying to tell you something, but the clouds surrounding Bergen won't let it. That is midday where I come from.
